Week 2: Skills that need to adapt Society 5.0 and its development
Skill that need to adapt to Society 5.0 and its development
1. Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning( Chew Wei Bin TP078770)
With the
help of Artificial Intelligence, Expertise system will also help to solve problems
in certain domains with the database of experiences and knowledge of expertise
that is related. To achieve this outcome, people will have to master the
ability to train supervised or unsupervised learning. After this, the expertise
system will greatly benefit society in many ways such as helping to diagnose patient
in healthcare.
Besides
the expertise system, Natural Language Processing (NLP) is also a crucial field
for the individual to master. This is because it will help to decrease the difficulty
of human communicating to the AI and help AI understand better how human
express them through Natural Language (Fukuyama, 2018; Schwab, 2016).
In conclusion,
proficiency in AI is essential for society. By continuous learning and staying
updated with the latest technologies especially in AI and Machine Learning will
help people agile adapting to the rapid technological changes happened in the
society (Yoshikawa, 2019).
2. Cybersecurity (Braxton Choo Ying Shun TP079069)
To adapt
the society 5.0 and its development, we must also keep learning while
developing some essential entrepreneurial skills, especially in cybersecurity. Cybersecurity
is a practice that protecting systems, networks, and programs from digital
attacks, this might include malicious attacks by hackers, spammers, and cybercriminal (Kelley, 2024). For instance, cybersecurity can
protect the systems by continuously monitor malicious activities and implement
protective measures such as firewalls, encryption, and intrusion detection
systems. Therefore, by keep practicing cybersecurity in the development of
business, entrepreneurs can protect their sensitive data or information and prevent
financial loss (Pratt, 2024).
Furthermore, organizations with strong cybersecurity system can build trust
with customers, partners, and stakeholders (Szleter, 2023).
Nowadays, everyone is concern about sharing their information to an
organization due to the increases number in cyberattack (Marquez, 2023). In this circumstance, a strong cybersecurity
system is needed in every organization to enhance the privacy and security of
users’ information. Therefore, users will feel more confident and secure in
sharing their personal and sensitive information with the organization. In
conclusion, cybersecurity practice is important to adapt society 5.0. By
continuously learning and skills development in cybersecurity not only protect
business from malicious attack but also build trust among with their users.
3. Critical Thinking and Problem Solving (Alvin Ting Sing Ngie TP070429)
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are foundational for
adapting to Society 5.0 and its development, and they intersect with
entrepreneurial skills in various ways. Apply critical thinking to conduct
thorough market research and validate entrepreneurial ideas. Analyse market
needs, consumer behaviour, and competition to identify gaps and opportunities
for disruptive solutions that align with Society 5.0's goals of improving
quality of life through technology integration.
Use problem-solving abilities to uncover societal issues that can be addressed through creative approaches. Identify issue statements, generate ideas for potential solutions, prototype them, test them iteratively to make sure they satisfy user demands, and, finally, apply design thinking approaches to build empathy with end users. Adopt a mindset that sees setbacks as teaching moments. Entrepreneurs that possess critical thinking and problem-solving abilities are better able to assess failures, identify the underlying reasons behind them, and use what they learn to inform future ventures—thereby promoting a continuous improvement culture. (Supendi, A., & Nurjanah, N, 2020)
“Critical Thinking prevents individuals from being susceptible to manipulation. Moreover, critical thinking allows people to solve problems more creatively, independently, and effectively” (Stenberg, & Halpern, 2020). People can not only adapt to the opportunities and challenges of Society 5.0 by combining critical thinking and problem-solving abilities with entrepreneurial competencies, but they can also promote meaningful innovation and constructive societal change through entrepreneurial endeavours that are in line with its vision and values.
4.scientific thinking (Matthew Qua Jin Chuan TP079471)
Scientific thinking is a set of reasoning processes that is used in the field of science which includes induction, deduction and casual reasoning. This is a purposeful form of thinking which is aimed to enhance knowledge. The main goal of society 5.0 is to create a people-centric society where technology serves humanity rather than the other way round.
Scientific thinking helps or rather improve peoples problem solving which is to analyze complex issues identify solutions and also implement them effectively. Not only that, but scientific thinking helps individual harness and understand systems such as integrated digital system which includes both virtual and real spaces which makes it crucial role into achieving the goal that was set upon by society 5.0.Besides that, scientific thinking will allow us to gain transdisciplinary approach.A transdisciplinary approach integrates researches and users, bridging societal and scientific persepctive.By combining insights from various fields,we can create new knowledge which allows us to contribute to the progression of society.
There are many ways for us to adapt or improve our scientific thinking. One of them is by hypothesis testing which is by creating your own hypothesis and comparing it to given data. We can also train ourselves by questioning assumptions. This allows us to be open minded and makes us revise our own opinion based on new evidences. We should also avoid rushing to conclusions, rather take our own time to find evidences to back up our beliefs and have the knowledge to come up with a stronger conclusion.
5. Innovative thinking (Liang Wei Hern TP079373)
